I bought a second hand BMW F800GS Adv from Ekerold in November. After having many Whatsapp conversations with Terry, and being promised that the bike is in excellent condition with no mechanical or electrical faults. Videos were sent to me showing me just how beautiful the bike was. So I bought the motorbike and arranged for transport from Pietermaritzburg to Worcester. When the bike arrived, we immediately noticed how skew the handlebars were. After the first test drive, the dash cut out, the headlights blew and the bike ran horrible. The front brakes had a terrible shudder on them and I found the front floating disks were worn beyond their specifications. I also found that the topbox had a crack in the bottom and that the mounting plate had many cracks, causing the top box to be loose. The windscreen was not made for the bike and someone attempted to drill holes in it to secure it but alas they failed, leaving some terrible marks. Having sent Terry some WhatsApp's to which he did not even bother replying, his workshop manager eventually called me. The manager tried blaming the courier company but I did not accept his excuses. He was rude and I did not expect someone to speak to a customer like that. Terry eventually answered me after another whatsapp. He did not accept any responsibility for faults and not even an apology was given. The licensing was also bungled on their side, and one month later I am still struggling to license the bike. I took the bike to BMW for a service and to fix the issues. To replace the front disks and pads, the voltage regulator and straighten the handle bars cost me R16000. So much for a bike promised to be in good condition. Aftersales service = non existent. Having read other complaints online, I expect a ****ty reply to this review from Ekerold.
