I was just debited R50 for an Uber One membership that I never signed up for. I received a message saying, “Your Uber One payment was successful,” which is shocking because I did not subscribe to this service. On top of that, trying to cancel it is unnecessarily complicated and feels almost impossible to do quickly. Customers should not have to jump through hoops to stop a service they never agreed to in the first place. This feels like an unauthorised charge. I want my R50 refunded immediately, and I want confirmation that this membership has been cancelled and that my account will not be charged again. Please stop debiting my account for services I did not request.
Please save yourself the trouble. Utter lies and manipulation. This man has no respect for anyone's belongings and will do anything for a quick paycheck. I have no idea why my carefully packaged items were opened. Most of my items were delivered damaged or filthy. A portion of my stuff was not delivered at all, and he has completely stopped answering my messages and taking my calls. I am disgusted.
I recently had a very disappointing experience with the Planet Fitness branch at Northmead Square. On November 30, 2024, I signed up for a membership with the help of a salesperson named Kgomotso. He offered me a Black Friday deal of R99 per month for the first three months, specifically tailored for my short-term stay in Gauteng. I was assured that I could cancel the membership in December with only the three months’ fees (R99 x 3) payable upfront. However, when I attempted to cancel on December 28, 2024, the receptionist directed me to contact customer services. On calling on December 30, I was shocked to learn that the cancellation fee was over R4000. After further discussions, it was revealed that I had been mistakenly placed on a national membership instead of a student one. Although the fee was later reduced to R999 after providing proof of my student status, this was still not what was initially promised. I feel completely misled and taken advantage of, as I was not informed about the higher cancellation fees or the different membership type. Additionally, I was not provided with a copy of my contract detailing these terms. This experience has left me feeling ****med and deeply disappointed, especially as a student with limited financial means. I’m not alone in this; many other customers have left similar reviews about hidden fees, misleading contract terms, and poor customer service at this branch. I am deeply disappointed and would warn anyone considering this branch to think twice.
