I leave in Carr Gardens in a complex owned by JHC in Fordsburg for a year and I decide to leave because I was ****** in the complex and in front of 3 security guards who were comfortable sitting in there office without a care in the world. I was ****** by 4 men in a car that they had allowed to enter the complex and according to the security guards, had been parked there for over an hour. My mugging was very suspicious because 1st they did not quest why these men were parked there for so long, secondly these men only got of the car when I dropped off from work yet there were other people who had been standing there for a while and they did not try to rob them. 3rd the security guards only came out when the vehicle had left the complex and they were looking at me being mug through this whole time. I complained to management and they said a 'sorry' as usually people think sorry solved anything. The security company said they will investigate and I have never gotten any update from that investigation to date. This my deal breaker on top of the unhygienic conditions my children and I had been living under for almost a year because the building was infested by pest and ****roaches and not one bothers to fumigate for over a year. I opted to move out so I headed to the office give them on the 1st of July 2024. I moved out end July and in August I received the last statement form them with a water bill of R144.45. 6 months later I am getting an email with a collections letter stating that I owe then R4900 that does not specify what the charges are for. When I call the women I spoke to then tells me about how they spent R3000 painting the unit electrical what what. Mind you my husband went there 2 times to meet with the care tacker so that they would access the unit together and he would tell us what we were going to be charged for and he still has the messages from him that he looked at the unit and there were no charges they were just going to paint the u it from there end. We left it at that because. I have never received any communication in for of email or phone call from this company that they are any charges I needed to pay for or that I own them anything. Then all of a sudden a letter is demand is issued by there collections team. When we called the care taker and ask him what are these charges in the letter of demand he said he has no ideas what we are being charged for because he did not submit anything. So my question is who is fooling who right now. How can they decide to renovate their building at our expense when we were clearly told there were no charges and nobody informed us of anything prior to the letter of demand. I was very disappointed with JHC before moving out but now I realize these people are good at reaping off people. I want communication with there management not there customer service because they ate hopeless 😤
