Good morning hello peter, I am writing to you with a heavy heart and disappointment. I bought a BrandNew Hyundia grand i10 on the 30th of November 2024 from Hyundia Roodepoort. in February 2025 I am starting to get some disturbance with the car. The reverse gear grinding and the clutch I have to double clutch. amongst other things which I thought I might just be paranoid or over comparing this new car from my previous grand i10 which I also bought BrandNew. I call the dealer and book the car in for the 26 February 2025. explained my concerns and they took the car in for a checkup. I picked up the car later and was told something were user issue and they explained how they work that's cool. Also, they have adjusted the clutch cable and the clutch. and explained how the reverse gear works. On the 03rd of March 2025 I visited the dealership as even though I am doing what they said I should do with the revers at times I still experience the grindings. I explained to some lady why I was there, and I am not happy she then takes to me the workshop manager. I give the workshop manager my story and tell him the car is three months old; he then gets someone from the workshop to come and have a look at the car. while we at the car the gentleman from the works shop says let me check and maybe I can adjust the clutch cable. I was like no that's not why I am here it only been four days since I was here, and you fixed my car. I am here because I am not happy that I am having bad experience with a BrandNew car. We go to the workshop manager I tell him the same that I am not happy. The manager says to me look this is a problem with all the Hyundai grand i10 they all have a grinding issue its a manufacture issue. All I can do is have a look at it and fix it for you. I then said not all because I owned a grand i10 before and never experience this issue hance now I was able to pick up this problem with this car and if you are saying it is a known issue was, I not advised of it when buying this car so that I can decide whether or not to buy it. The workshop why did they bring you this said if you came to complain I don't deal with complains I fix cars. I went back where I started and met with the sales manager Keyl (please forgive the spelling if its incorrect). again, I explain myself to the sales manager who again tell me the same thing that all grand i10 have a manufacture error (defect if I must say) with the reverse gear grinding. I am like so why I was not told about this at the point of sale so that I can decide if I am buying the car with this "manufacture error"(defect) or not. Kyle said no we don't tell this to customers it's a manufactures error on all grand i10 and there is nothing I too can do. Keyl went on to say the car comes with seven years warranty all you can do is bring in the car and we can check it for you and fix were required. I have owned a BrandNew Hyundia and know that the warranty is not seven, but it's not all part which are under warranty and each part is covered for a certain kilometers or years whichever one comes first. And I am being told that that we sold you that car knowing that the is a defect and now that you have picked up the defect just bring your car in. what is going to happen when the warranty wears off, what is going to happen when this problem affects the gear box, and clutch plate. what happen when the clutch cable tears up and the warranty is not there what now. I said to the Keyl the sales manager, the I feel that I was a product that is not 100 and at this point I am not getting value for money, I am not happy with the fact that you know about this manufactures error (defect) but you are saying you do not disclose this to the customer. Therefore, I do not want to keep your product "the car". Keyl unfortunately I cannot take the car back I can offer you to trade in, I asked how much loose the trade will in come with in estimation he said about R35000. I said nop I am not willing to have a loose for a manufacture error (defect1) I was not told about. Therefore, I do not want the car He said I can't take it back, I asked how long I have to return the car when I am not happy, he says within seven days then I said OKAY. I here because I was sold a defective car and both managers told me straight that we are aware of this they call it a manufacture error. it is a defect in all honestly and my car is just three months old. I want the dealership to refund me my monies and they can keep their car. I am not happy even worse that I was told to my face that this is a defect from the manufacture and the is nothing they can do. well, their problems cannot be my problem. I buy a new car so that I can have a seamless experience the first three trimester and I am having this issue at the first trimester, and they know it. If there is a way to get assistance from you with this issue I would appreciate it.
