One of the City Sightseeing buses collided with my parked car in Camps Bay, and while I appreciated the driver leaving a note, the response thereafter has been dismal to say the least. There was no apology at any point nor accountability being taken, and after being passed between 4 or 5 different operators, City Sightseeing was passed me on to their insurers, PSG insure. Within under 24 hours of the incident happening, I had already submitted ALL of the documents required to submit the claim, and received no follow up from City Sightseeing or PSG Insure. I ended up following up with them at least 10 times over the following few weeks, and at last received a response from PSG Insure that they were handing over the claim to their insurers, Paladin Insure. Paladin were very quick to then hand me over to their attorneys, who then requested all the original documentation that I had already sent early on, and said that I submitting a claim through them could take another 4 months and that I should claim through my insurance - something I had wanted to avoid to prevent my premium from going up and to keep my insurance benefits after not having claimed for 3+ years. This also means having to pay excess and then going through the hassle of trying to claim back from City Sightseeing's insurer. This has been a deeply frustrating process, especially considering the fact that I had been planning on selling my car the week that the incident happened, had had an offer put in for the car, as well as another offer accepted for an upgrade I was looking to buy. In addition to the frustration and distress that this has caused, it has proven to be a costly endeavour due to time taken off work to arrange quotes, documentation, affadavits, insurance assessments, etc as well as the excess that I now have to pay based on your drivers' incompetence.
