I took my car into Pitstop Fish Hoek to get a quotation on repair of back left brake which was binding intermittently, a minor issue. The people at Fish Hoek Pitstop removed all four wheels and completely disassembled both back drum brakes draining brake fluid out of both brakes. They then started compiling a long list of possible unrelated issues with the brakes and told me I could no longer drive the car because they’d disassembled the brakes and it was no longer safe to drive if they put it back together. I consider this to be a complete **** to ****** money out of me by sabotaging my vehicle. I told them to put it back together, which they did begrudgingly at which point the car was rendered extremely dangerous to drive because the brakes were now faulty, with very little compression and me having to pump the brakes to stop. They charged me R700 saying this was the cost of the quote they were supposed to send me for repairs. I never received any quote. I complained about this a few days later to their head office and they offered to get my car back to its initial drivable state, by, I assume replenishing the brake fluid Fish Hoek branch had drained out the car. They then, in a long drawn out series of back and forth phone calls refused to refund my R700 for the quote I did not receive, saying I could instead get a discount on repairs to my car in future. I just want my R700 I’ve been ****med out of. The person heading up this apparent ****, a Mr Baker so deluded by his false sense of grandeur will not take my calls and appears to not care enough to call a customer back who has been abused. Perhaps others have had Pitstop **** them in a similar fashion?
Call centre agents call me back immediately after an online call back request to sell me legal cover (great hard-sell service when they're signing you up). The callcenter person then gives me completely false information about what I'm covered for. I asked about business related legal protection, I gave the circumstances, specifically an existing issue with a vendor not supplying what I paid for. Then once I'm signed up I find out they do not cover business related issues at all, or legal issues that are current or ongoing. In other words only future issues as they arise. Then it took me several days at my expense, being sent from pillar to post and being cut off on calls when I'm paying for the calls to actually get them to cancel it. The first debit order went off after these calls. Then the whole saga again and were supposed to refund me. They did not do so. Now a month later I'm trying to get a refund and they don't even respond to call back requests. These are either a bunch of ****mers or they're completely and utterly *********** as an organisation. I wouldn't trust my legal matters with this company. Don't sign up because you're not getting what they offer you in their sales pitch calls, you'll struggle to cancel the subscription and they won't refund you.
BS artist extraordinaire. The guy behind this front company, only one person pretending to be a company of ten or more people, is what would appear to be in my experience a complete **** artist. In the time we've worked together he has changed his company name three times and intentionally doesn't share contact details on any of his platforms, signs of an extremely shifty operator. All smooth talking in his polo neck and big words, and as soon as he has your money he doesn't deliver the full project. He gets you to sign paperwork to accept stages of the project to indemnify him against full refund and then you face non delivery of the final product. Once he has your money he becomes uncommunicative, sometimes disappearing for a week. I tried to get him to do the final delivery of my Shopify store and he tells me I can only have it at the end of November, two months away, when there really shouldn't be a lot left to do. He has most of his money so doesn't care. This caused the failure of my online store because I've given him all my money, and now that I've raised enough to finish the site he expects me to wait two months and miss the opening of my store before Christmas. Avoid.
This is a guy called Adrian, sometimes going by the company name Rihto, sometimes Social Dynamix, designing Shopify sites. He doesn't have contact information on his site and if you try follow up on his number he blocks you and you're stuck without a functioning shopify website after paying for it. Very unprofessional and basically cost me R10 000 without producing a final website. Getting the files out of him has been a challenge so I can get it to another website designer to finish it off. He's intentionally been uncooperative, has a bad attitude and once he has your money does very little to ensure you get your final product. He has now blocked me on whatsapp and I cannot communicate with him to get my website and my store won't be opening before Christmas. I've put my savings into this and feel I have been ****med by this *****ster. His modus operandi is he gets upfront payments and takes you through stages, getting paid as you go along, but then doesn't deliver towards the end, so the money you have spent isn't refundable and you're left with nothing. I'm looking into ***** charges against this guy and damages to my business. Be warned.
This is to a highlight a common problem in the advertising and media. This person, a sole operator rpetending he's an agency doesn't pay the freelancers he works with. He pays a 50% upfront payment on a job, then asks for open files (editable files) and doesn't pay remainders on completion. Clients need to know how this person treats the freelance designers he works with and make a balanced decision on the ethics of working with him. I was tasked with designing a 55 page brochure. We discussed it and agreed to add an additional day to the timing to get it finished. I worked into the early hours and completed the brochure early, literally the early hours of the morning before the deadline day (deadline being end of play the following day). He approved the work and said he was happy with it. I was being pressurised at 1 in the morning by this guy so finished it off. He then asked me for open files in case he needed to make changes. Like a fool I trusted him. He then told me I wouldn't be paid the remainder because I had missed the deadline - even though we had arranged extra time, and not missed any deadline, and the entire thing was complete and he approved it. He tried to cover his tracks and blocked me from our shared mail server, but I still have all the mails where he gave me extra time (nothing about missing deadlines) and approved the work. This guy is potentially *********** other vendors and charging his clients a markup for it. He has some bigger clients and I'm certain they are not aware of such abuses. If you work with this guy you need to know how he operates and treats the people he works with.
