This is a follow up to my previous issue with this practice. I did not think earlier but now that I have more time to process this issue some things come to mind that should be addressed. This issue is currently also with the Health Professionals Council. The Dr that witnessed and checked only my one leg did not even record the problem or should I say accident resulting from poor safety measures in the practice. The insurance broker has been in contact with me but he cannot say if this problem is covered by their insurance ( but he sold the package to the dr's). I have requested either Dr David Kathan or Dr Louis Kathan to give me a call. None of them did since 29th March 2025. The issue has just been brushed off to the insurers as if this can help with the issue of me everyday going over the fall and thinking that my grandson could have had a severe head injury as a result of my fall ( I was carrying him because he was so Ill). As if the insurers can get rid of the pain I have daily in my knees. They could have offered to send me for x rays and perhaps a blood check to see whether there are any clots because now my leg swells on occasion. They could also have offered to pay for my uber ride to their practice ( they requested that I should come in) No empathy was shown even though the fault lays on their side. Shoving one off to the insurers does not help me in any way. Today i once again asked the Broker Gary Richards to ask one of the partners to give me a call. I dont have any hope that either of them will. I am now waiting on the results from the HPCSA.
Dr has now just handed my issue to his insurers instead of contacting me personally. His broker called but he is not able to say if my claim will be approved or not. I sit in pain everyday but this practice thinks it's just about money.
Just an update on my previous complaint. I will update as I receive information from the medical practice. DR Anderson has informed me that the issue is now handed over to the insurers. What I cannot understand is that I told her I have no money or transport to their practice for another consultation. She could have offered to pay for my Uber ride seeing that the fall was a result of their safety issues.
On Monday I had a huge fall on a drain that was covered with a mat in the driveway. This was the only way to reached Dr seeing my grandson office. I was sent home with a pkt of brufen and told to put on an icepack. What made natters worse was that my sick grandchild fell with me and could have been severely injured. A Dr Anderson called me after receiving my complaint. All she offered was for me to come back to the surgery so they could evaluate my knee. Without having an x-ray machine what more can they do. I still cannot put pressure on my knee or elbow. I have sent them pictures of my leg and arm. I told her I live very far from the practice and have no transport or money to pay an Uber. This did not deter her in any way. I asked on a few occasions to speak to either Dr Louis Kathan or Dr David Kathan but this was not possible according to her. The only way according to her was to come back in.
