Got called into the Drs consultation room where he asked to explain how he could assist us. I then proceeded to explain what my son had been complaining about which was pain in his pubic area. Obviously me not having the correct medical term and/or scientific name (hence the reason we go to a doctor), tried explaining exactly what my son told me. 1. This Dr Olkers (excuse the incorrect spelling) stares blankly at me as if i am talking another language. 2. He literally sighs when he stood up from his chair and asks my son to lie down on the bed. He questions my son and then says to me in a very blunt manner that there is only bone where my son was pointing to. So, i get up and explain to him AGAIN what my son had said. He tunes me my son probably laid wrong. In the examination he asked my son when last he passed stool and my son answered a couple of days ago. He then leaves the room and comes back with meds saying he will dispense medication for pain and constipation very abruptly and impersonal. I was so annoyed by his unprofessional and "i don't care" attitude. I even mentioned it to him. He still showed no interest. How are you even a doctor but you have no people skills? I don't care if you saw 10 000 clients today, your job is to help people! It is a service PAID for. Not for free. I felt unheard and disregarded by this Dr. Olkers. This is clearly just J.O.B (journey of boredom) to him. There is no passion from those Dr's at the practice of Grassy Park. They make you feel as if you are a burden yet you're a paying customer. I will NEVER go back and/or recommend anyone to go there. It's all about the money. Sickening!!!!

ENOUGH IS ENGOUGH
My wife was suffering from sever chest pains and body aches on the 26th August 2025. As we were at the very same doctors the week before for an ear infection we decided it was time to return. Apon our return we were met by reception Kurt and Candice and as per every visit because we’ve had a bad experience before with Dr Olkers we requested not to be seen by him. The reception called the doctor to discuss the request of not being seen by him but instead of remaining professional as we are paying and physically ill customers they proceeded to rather point and laugh aloud at my wife at the front desk infront the other patients. The sed doctor literally remained behind till my wife was called and stared, laughed and gossiped about my wife as we passed by to go and be seen by another doctor. Sadly not where the story ends. We had to return the next day for X-ray results and once again Kurt was there now gossiping ,pointing and trying to involve the other receptionist to mock my wife. We are paying customers/patients we had the right to request who and which doctor we would prefer to be seen by without any judgement. Not only do we feel embarrassed but we feel our privacy has been invaded and as a ******* couple we face issues like this enough out in the world and do not need nor do we expect to be treated like this by Doctors and or receptionist’s. This will not go unheard.

ENOUGH IS ENGOUGH

We are paying customers/patients we had the right to request who and which doctor we would prefer to be seen by without any judgement. Not only do we feel embarrassed but we feel our privacy has been invaded and as a ******* couple we face issues like this enough out in the world and do not need nor do we expect to be treated like this by Doctors and or receptionist’s. This will not go unheard.

UNSYMPATHETIC MEDICAL PRACTICE
This is a follow up to my previous issue with this practice. I did not think earlier but now that I have more time to process this issue some things come to mind that should be addressed. This issue is currently also with the Health Professionals Council. The Dr that witnessed and checked only my one leg did not even record the problem or should I say accident resulting from poor safety measures in the practice. The insurance broker has been in contact with me but he cannot say if this problem is covered by their insurance ( but he sold the package to the dr's). I have requested either Dr David Kathan or Dr Louis Kathan to give me a call. None of them did since 29th March 2025. The issue has just been brushed off to the insurers as if this can help with the issue of me everyday going over the fall and thinking that my grandson could have had a severe head injury as a result of my fall ( I was carrying him because he was so Ill). As if the insurers can get rid of the pain I have daily in my knees. They could have offered to send me for x rays and perhaps a blood check to see whether there are any clots because now my leg swells on occasion. They could also have offered to pay for my uber ride to their practice ( they requested that I should come in) No empathy was shown even though the fault lays on their side. Shoving one off to the insurers does not help me in any way. Today i once again asked the Broker Gary Richards to ask one of the partners to give me a call. I dont have any hope that either of them will. I am now waiting on the results from the HPCSA.

Update on feedback from Dr Anderson
Just an update on my previous complaint. I will update as I receive information from the medical practice. DR Anderson has informed me that the issue is now handed over to the insurers. What I cannot understand is that I told her I have no money or transport to their practice for another consultation. She could have offered to pay for my Uber ride seeing that the fall was a result of their safety issues.

Update on feedback from Dr Anderson
Just an update on my previous complaint. I will update as I receive information from the medical practice. DR Anderson has informed me that the issue is now handed over to the insurers. What I cannot understand is that I told her I have no money or transport to their practice for another consultation. She could have offered to pay for my Uber ride seeing that the fall was a result of their safety issues.

UNSAFE ROOMS AT PRACTICE
On Monday I had a huge fall on a drain that was covered with a mat in the driveway. This was the only way to reached Dr seeing my grandson office. I was sent home with a pkt of brufen and told to put on an icepack. What made natters worse was that my sick grandchild fell with me and could have been severely injured. A Dr Anderson called me after receiving my complaint. All she offered was for me to come back to the surgery so they could evaluate my knee. Without having an x-ray machine what more can they do. I still cannot put pressure on my knee or elbow. I have sent them pictures of my leg and arm. I told her I live very far from the practice and have no transport or money to pay an Uber. This did not deter her in any way. I asked on a few occasions to speak to either Dr Louis Kathan or Dr David Kathan but this was not possible according to her. The only way according to her was to come back in.

BAD SERVICE FROM DR OLKERS
today the 23 March 2025 i visited the practice of Dr Kathan in Klip road Grassy Park and I received the most arrogant service from a male Dr registration number MPO678317 a DR OLKERS who assisted me in the outside container with my son. Firstly how can my folder be lost now for almost a month so the Dr i see has no past record of what my situation is and my family as well.I went to see a Dr. for my son who suffers from a skin breakout and wanted something to ease the process but this DR. does not listen to your requests as a patient he disregards your concerns about whatever you telling him and he decides what medication would suit the patient better which don't the DR normally listen to what you have to say first then secondly when it was my turn i asked him for something for my back pain which i have been medically boarded for and still am ,i suffer from severe backpain and asked him to fill my script of medication i am currently taking and he asked me a couple of questions which i answered and i said to him that i am currently medically boarded and Old mutual had me see an anesthetist last week and he has to send them a report on what treatment i will need to undergo for the future and he asked me why could that Dr. not write a script and i was like seriously he was like wow ,how arrogant is this guy no eye contact at all only when he feels it necessary to do so then what really made me so furious was that i asked him for something for pain because i needed something like then he tells me that im already writing a script i can't give you an injection because it's like I'm asking for too much now and i did not have the energy to argue with this DR because i was in too much pain..im like what i just cant believe it i was not going to get the script today at all so something to ease my pain would of been all i needed because its not like im not paying for the medication .This dr never examined me or my son took no vitals asked me what my sons weight was what kind of service is this i cannot believe this at all the worst service i received ever since i have been at that surgery .This Dr Olkers has no empathy and is very arrogant he does not have any patience with his patients and he was just there tending to patients because he was forced to do so not because he wanted to be there because that is the attitude i recieved.
