I am deeply disappointed with the appalling service I received at Calvin Klein Gateway in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal. What should have been a simple exchange of a gift turned into a chaotic, time-wasting ordeal marked by incompetence, poor communication, and zero accountability. Here’s why I urge others to steer clear of this store: 1. Timeline of Failures: - 15 March: Purchased sneakers as a gift. - 17 March: Received the gift, but the size did not fit. - 19 March: Contacted the store to request an exchange, only to be told the correct size was unavailable. The staff member I spoke to lacked product knowledge and seemed utterly clueless. - 21 March First Store Visit: I went to the store in person and was assisted by a different advisor who found the correct size in a different color and assured me I could exchange the original pair. 2. Bait-and-Switch Hassle: - 25 March: Returned to the store with the original sneakers, only to be met by the same *********** staff member I’d spoken to earlier. She insisted the size I needed was “in Sandton,” despite the sneakers physically being on the shelf (which I had to point out myself!). - I was told I need to pay R100 for courier to have the correct pair shipped from Sandton, yet the store refused to take back the ill-fitting sneakers or offer a refund. Instead, they issued a vague voucher” and promised delivery in 2–3 days. 3. Zero Communication & Broken Promises: - 1 April onwards: No updates despite multiple follow-up calls. Staff repeatedly claimed they were “still checking” and failed to return calls. - When pressed, they blamed “delays” and **refused to provide a tracking number**, claiming it was impossible to locate my package. - Confusion & Incompetence: Each call connected me to a different employee who knew nothing about my case. One even admitted they had “no record” of the issue! 4. Final Straw: - My holiday outfit was ruined due to their negligence. They set unrealistic expectations, wasted my time and money, and showed no remorse or urgency to resolve the issue. Conclusion: Calvin Klein Gateway Umhlanga lacks basic customer service standards. Their staff is untrained, their processes are chaotic, and their communication is nonexistent. makes no sense to make customers pay for courier then you must wait for 7-14 days for them to courier other goods of the store in bulk Save yourself the stress – **DO NOT SHOP HERE**.
