My name is Analine Portia Mokwatjibi, a resident at the Waterfall Kennels and Cattery (179 Inchanga Road, Maroeladal, Randburg). I've had multiple fights with my landlord, but I feel like the situation has become unbearable. The security lights around my home haven't worked since I got to the property, so I reported this to him. He said that he can't fix the lights because he can't guarantee whether they were working or not when I took over the property. The law says that your landlord can't avoid responsibility just because they can't guarantee the lights worked before; they must provide a habitable home, meaning they're responsible for fixing non-working installed fixtures, not just bulbs. The landlord usually handles the fixtures, the tenant handles bulbs. The landlord hasn't completely refused to fix the lights and has threatened that I must leave his property by the end of February or sooner. Secondly, I used to rent 2 cottages on this landlord's property. then I let go of one at the end of December 2025. The landlord went ahead to deduct basic cleaning fees from my deposit, which isn't allowed by the law. I didn't cause any messes beyond normal living, I didn't leave the cottage in any unsatisfactory condition, nor did I cause any specific damages. He went ahead to charge me R700 for labor for cleaning the cottage. I left the cottage super clean when I moved out of it.
Greetings There is an issue I need your assistance with resolving. I have been a loyal Renault customer since 2005, and as a result, decided to buy another Renault vehicle in 2023. I bought the Renault Captur Intens. This car is brand new. The treatment they are giving me regards the issues with this car is unacceptable. Are they treating me like this because they have gotten comfortable? In December last year, my vehicle's electrical system failed, and the engine lights came on suddenly. I took the vehicle to Renault Bryanston, and they told me that I needed to change my rear calipers. Prior to that, they had told me to change my brake pads because they were finished. I went to Tyger Wheel and Tyres to change the brake pads. These were the front two brake pads. They mentioned that the electrical issue might be because I fixed the brake pads elsewhere, but they can't say that because they never told me to only fix them at Renault. The contract also doesn't say anything like what they are claiming. Moreover, how can the change of the front brake pads affect the rear calipers? They are not making sense. When I went to ask them to fix the engine lights, they kept saying they can't, so I decided to take the car to Renault Fourways, hoping for a different outcome. Renault Fourways, say they don't know what the problem with the car is and this is now frustrating. It has been 6 months since I reported this issue to them, and I can't wait any longer. This car is only 18 months old. I bought it in October 2023. It clearly has a factory fault, but they don't want to admit it. I bought the car from Renault Menlyn, and at the time, the right arm of the windscreen was not in line, so I took it to them, but they couldn't fix it. All this is happening with a brand-new car. Ever since I started taking the car to Renault (Menlyn, Bryanston, Fourways) the car has gotten worse. The front doors don't lock anymore now, meaning it's not safe to even park the car at work or anywhere. My battery terminals are melting, and the fuse was apparently burnt, so Renault Fourways is blaming me for jump-starting the vehicle. I have never jump-started that vehicle, neither have I jump-started anyone's vehicle. According to the contract that I signed when purchasing the car, Renault is supposed to provide a courtesy car when there is an electrical issue with one's car. Up until today, I've been battling with them to get a courtesy car. Renault Fourways have stories upon stories. They keep saying they'll provide one, but when the day comes, there's always an issue with the car they were supposed to give me. I'm paying about R10,000 per month for this car and I feel like Renault is very inconsiderate. Whenever I speak to them about the issue, they keep asking me to trade in the car...it's like they just want to make more money from me. They show no effort to fix the car. They show no remorse. I'd like to get another vehicle from Renault until they fix mine (same value as what I'm paying right now). This is affecting my life considerably. I don't feel safe on the road, I can't travel far because I'm afraid the car will just collapse, I'm afraid the car will be ****** because it doesn't lock anymore, etc. In he past week, the car didn't start, then when it finally came on, it went off while driving. How can this happen with such a new and modern vehicle? I have done all my services properly and timeously. I did my 60,000KMs service last week and they noticed that my cambelt needs to be replaced, but they didn't replace it even if it falls under my service plan. The service assistant told me that they'll fix it at my 90,000KMs service. They know that my service plan expires at 75,000KMs, so they just want to push it back so that they can make money off me because they know that I'll have to pay for the 90,000KMs service. This is unfair! As you will see in the warranty section of the attached Certified Service Plan, Renault is going against all of their own rules and regulations. Everything that Renault is saying goes against their word. They are failing to keep their promise according to the contract. Please assist with this issue. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
