I had to have 2x Lasek eye surgeries because the first surgery did not work properly. After just 18months my eyes have declined considerably back to almost where they were before the surgery - except worse, because i now have severely dry eyes - a condition i never had before! I cannot wake up on any day without squirting eyedrops into my eyes that feel like sandpaper - after never ONCE using eyedrops in my 50years of life. Upon calling to complain about the condition of my eyes i was told to book a consultation. When i arrived i was put through a series of eye tests. I did not need tests to prove what i already know & experience daily, yet i was charged R2500 for those tests!! Not only that but they did not warn me about the charge before the tests were done, nor did they do so when i left, but instead put a claim directly through to my medical aid without consulting me, and in doing so depleting my savings there. Whilst i was there Dr Kruger made zero attempt to apologise for my condition but instead said "we told you your eyes would deteriorate within 18months" (which is untrue). Whilst disputing the matter Dr Kruger simply said "go find another opthamologist!" Despicable attitude from a healthcare professional who performed surgery on my eye*****, and really bad practice in the manner in which they handled my consultation and billing!! I would avoid this practice at all costs.
