Logged a complain in June 2025 and today it’s March 2026 and no feedback or update I called many times no answer Or am told am still in a Que
I bought a vehicle from Webuycars Dome Branch on 15 November 2024, and it has been nothing short of a nightmare. Just two weeks after purchase, the car broke down. I contacted their complaints office and was told to take it to an RMI-approved workshop, which I did. The quote came to R15,000, which I submitted — and it took them over a month and a half to reimburse me. I spent the entire December without a car, while still paying for a financed vehicle. In May 2025, the car broke down again. I reported the issue and dealt with a lady named Vino over the phone and email. She requested the current mileage and told me to take the car to another RMI-approved dealer. I did as instructed and received a preliminary quote of around R28,000. I forwarded this to her and was told to submit a claim through my warranty first, after which Webuycars would cover the shortfall. The workshop then stripped the vehicle (as required by the warranty company) and found that the damage was actually more extensive, increasing the cost to R41,000. The warranty covered only R15,000 — its maximum payout for transmission repairs. I sent proof of this to Vino, along with the shortfall, expecting them to honor their word. Instead, I was told the issue was being escalated. After weeks of silence, I was shocked to receive a letter from Webuycars stating they would not assist me because it had been more than six months since I bought the car. This is unfair, as I reported the issue just three days after the six-month mark, and I had already been dealing with their complaints team for weeks before that. Now my car is fixed but stuck at the workshop, and I can’t afford to pay the R26,000 shortfall. The mechanic is about to move it to storage because it's taking up space. Meanwhile, I’m still paying monthly installments for a car I can’t even drive, relying on Uber to get to work, which is financially and emotionally draining. I would never recommend Webuycars to anyone. My experience has been frustrating, financially damaging, and emotionally exhausting. Their lack of accountability and compassion is unacceptable.
