Did an enquiry on an advertised vehicle (They had 3 of them) on Tuesday. Had lots of discussions with the salesperson regarding the vehicle and stating that we are very keen on buying. Will pay difference between Trade in and purchase price in cash. Told him on Wednesday that we will be there on Friday morning. Had some back and forth on the trade in value, however I NEVER said we will not accept the offer, Just queried why a low mileage vehicle in excellent condition with R40 000 worth of extras will be offered R20 000 below the book trade in value (Which he even highlighted and sent me). Again said that we will come through Friday then they can do physical valuation as well. Me and my husband both had to put in leave from work only to receive whatsapp message 7:33 on Friday morning stating that unfortunately the vehicle is sold. I asked the salesperson if they did not at least put some kind of hold on 1 of the 3 vehicles as I said we will be there Friday morning. Were never asked to pay deposit to hold the vehicle or anything. According to all our conversations it was never mentioned that the vehicle might not be available. Now me and my husband both waisted a days leave and missed the opportunity to buy one of the three vehicles. We would have happily paid a holding deposit if we were asked to do so.
