JMPD Johannesburg

I got into a car accident 31 August 2025 at 11:10am on corner Nicholas and Chris Hani road, outside of Bara Mall. A taxi driver hit my car, because as usual they own the road, took my entire bumper off and could have seriously injured me as the impact came right into the driver's side of my car. I called SAPS got a reference number 6160109 from them. At least an hour and a half later, there was still no police vehicle or assistance, so contacted them again and got a second reference number 6175509 and we were told that the first one was not even recorded. They called me back at 14:57 for an accident that occurred at 11:10am. By then we had left the scene as the JMPD came instead, they took pictures of both mine and the taxi driver's disc's, took our statements and wrote what appeared to be an accident report. I was advised I would have to physically go to JMPD in Johannesburg CBD at Martindale to get a hard copy and pay a fee, which my insurance requires in order to assist me with my claim. I called my insurance first thing Monday morning, 1 September 2025 to let them know what happened, the lady that assisted me was helpful and she advised what she needs from me. I called at least 4 different JMPD numbers that I could find on the internet, because I wanted to follow up on the accident report. I called all of these numbers: 0113755918, 0800203712, 0860562874 and 0113755330.. The one man even sighed when I asked for assistance, showed zero empathy or interest in helping me even after I disclosed what happened, no surprise! I went to JMPD Johannesburg on 3 September 2025 and I was told there is no report of my accident, the lady checked with my ID number and car registration number and she said there is absolutely nothing. I don't expect that the TAT to report an accident would exceed 72hrs considering the seriousness and urgency of the matter. I am appalled that they don't even have any record of it, to this day. I am stressed and frustrated, my car is at the assessment centre which is probably going to charge me for storage and nothing can move forward without the accident report.
