I am completely shocked about the professionalism of people employed in government. I mean we know about failing municipalities and how employees go to work to have their lunch and go home. But seriously, you dont even answer the phone when im quering about payment of fines So i received a sms on 2 October 2025 stating that I have unpaid traffic fines since 2020. When i opened the attachment, i saw that the fines were from a vehicle that i had already sold at the time. So I called paycity as this is the prescribed procedure on their website. I spoke to Chamaine at paycity at 14:09 on 087 237 7011. She was kind enough to give me JMPD number and said i should call them on 011 375 5911 (trucaller states Motlhabane National Distributors). I called and explained to the gentlemen that I was not driving a car at the time of violation and he referred me to 011 375 5920. I called this number thereafter and it immediately gets cut off. I tried called the gentleman back on the 5911 number and it suddenly 2 minutes after speaking to the gentleman goes to voicemail saying the mailbox is full? I then tried calling joburg municipality traffic department after finding their number (0860562874) and this number doesn't even ring but just gets cut off. How will I ever be able to get in contact with somebody who will assist me with my issue. How are people supposed to abide by the law and follow the rules when others employed in government to rectify problems, dont want to perform their duties. Does anybody actually give a damn about our collapsing economy? I was threatened via the sms from paycity that if i do not pay the fine, my next license or drivers renewal will be blocked. Here I am, an honest citizen, trying to amend an issue, but nobody wants to listen. In a roadblock i will be locked up for outstanding fines yet I am not responsible for it. Will our country ever be beautiful like it once was, were everybody actually does the jobs their paid to do?

I got into a car accident 31 August 2025 at 11:10am on corner Nicholas and Chris Hani road, outside of Bara Mall. A taxi driver hit my car, because as usual they own the road, took my entire bumper off and could have seriously injured me as the impact came right into the driver's side of my car. I called SAPS got a reference number 6160109 from them. At least an hour and a half later, there was still no police vehicle or assistance, so contacted them again and got a second reference number 6175509 and we were told that the first one was not even recorded. They called me back at 14:57 for an accident that occurred at 11:10am. By then we had left the scene as the JMPD came instead, they took pictures of both mine and the taxi driver's disc's, took our statements and wrote what appeared to be an accident report. I was advised I would have to physically go to JMPD in Johannesburg CBD at Martindale to get a hard copy and pay a fee, which my insurance requires in order to assist me with my claim. I called my insurance first thing Monday morning, 1 September 2025 to let them know what happened, the lady that assisted me was helpful and she advised what she needs from me. I called at least 4 different JMPD numbers that I could find on the internet, because I wanted to follow up on the accident report. I called all of these numbers: 0113755918, 0800203712, 0860562874 and 0113755330.. The one man even sighed when I asked for assistance, showed zero empathy or interest in helping me even after I disclosed what happened, no surprise! I went to JMPD Johannesburg on 3 September 2025 and I was told there is no report of my accident, the lady checked with my ID number and car registration number and she said there is absolutely nothing. I don't expect that the TAT to report an accident would exceed 72hrs considering the seriousness and urgency of the matter. I am appalled that they don't even have any record of it, to this day. I am stressed and frustrated, my car is at the assessment centre which is probably going to charge me for storage and nothing can move forward without the accident report.

I am beyond frustrated and appalled by the disgraceful response I received from the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) when reporting an ongoing drag racing incident in our area. The level of incompetence, indifference, and downright laziness demonstrated by your team is absolutely unacceptable. When I contacted the JMPD to report the dangerous, ******* drag racing that was taking place right in our neighborhood, I was met with a shockingly unprofessional response. The operator handling my case, instead of taking swift action, claimed she could not locate the development where the incident was happening. This is not only embarrassing but also completely baffling. How can it be that your team, with all the resources at their disposal, can't pinpoint a known location where ******* activity is taking place? To make matters even worse, when I pressed the operator, she casually dismissed the issue, stating that sending out vans to address drag racing would be "a waste of resources" because those resources should only be allocated to "serious problems." Excuse me, but drag racing is inherently dangerous, *******, and an absolute public safety risk! If ******* activities like drag racing don’t qualify as a “serious problem,” then what exactly does? This is not just frustrating, it’s downright dangerous. The lack of urgency, care, and professionalism displayed by your department is an embarrassment. Do you only respond to emergencies when someone’s life is already at risk, rather than taking proactive measures to prevent these types of incidents from occurring in the first place? It is clear that the JMPD has failed in its fundamental duty to protect the residents of Johannesburg. When the very people we rely on to maintain safety and order are more interested in lazily dismissing calls than doing their jobs, it undermines all trust in your ability to effectively serve the public. I demand that you address this issue immediately, hold the operator accountable for her negligence, and ensure that proper procedures are followed in future cases. We should not have to beg for safety and accountability in our own city. I look forward to your prompt response and action.

I would not advise young to seek employment at JMPD as they are unable to pay some of their employees salaries for months now and all the lies about a glitch that never stop. So look somewhere else for employment that can guarantee that you will get paid.

Does Midrand still have JMPD Traffic Police?. NEVER see them on the roads during peak hours. No policing, speed traps, vehicle inspections, traffic fines. Complete disregard for traffic laws in Midrand, no one to check, and no one cares. At major junctions most traffic lights are dead, causing massive delays, no one to direct traffic. Thank you to Outsurance, (a private insurance company), trying to fill the gaps left by the absent traffic police.

I was coming from a prayer meeting in Brits and took the Lanseria route to the NI, on turning onto the NI from Malibongwe drive, I was pulled over by a JMPD policewoman. I stopped my motor vehicle about 3 meters further and dropped down my window. The Female officer comes to the window and says, " I am hungry", without even greeting me. I responded that if she is hungry, she should go home. She asked for my drivers license, looked at it and asked me to proceed. Is this the level of professionalism that we have to continue to deal with? I feel sorry for our law abiding citizens.
