We ordered a simple meal. We waited about an hour with no update from the waitress. When the meal arrived we had to leave for an appointment. We were offered take away bags to pack our own meals. When we complained about the service, and this is the cherry on the top. The manager/owners response/excuse was an abrupt "we have 40 people upstairs (watching rugby)" and he rushed back upstairs with no further apology. I guess a single customer is not important enough when you entertaining 40 preferred customers. In future let your customers know that you are unable to accommodate them. Remember, disrespecting one customer can have a ripple effect. The Cove has just lost one.
