If you want a place to stay where you will get your deposit back at the end, do not stay at this place. My lease was ending in July 2025, and I moved in February 2022, paying everything due on time and never missing a payment. I moved out in June 2025 because I lost my job, but I had paid June rent and was still supposed to pay July rent as per the agreement with the agent, who advised me to move out early since she might get someone else to move in, in which case I wouldn’t need to pay July rent. By the end of June, they used my deposit to pay July rent. I was surprised why they did that because i was more than willing to pay, but it was still okay, maybe they felt more secure doing it. They then charged me a R500 cleaning fee for cleaning the oven, which I found greasy, stained, and rusted. I even provided proof of the improved condition of the oven from when I moved in to when I left, but the agent said I still had to pay. Why should I pay for professionally cleaning an oven I did not find it professionally cleaned? There are years of apartment inspections showing the oven was clean, but for my exit inspection, the agent did not show up. The guy doing the inspection left before the agent arrived and. After that, I did not receive a copy of the exit inspection, despite requesting it multiple times. I have a remaining balance of R1500, which they are refusing to pay without giving a reason. They keep delaying and do not respond to emails. When I call, they tell me to send an email, and when I do, they ghost me. Their agent seems nice when they still benefit from you, as soon as you leave even the consultants become rude. Why not explain the delay in refund? That is my money and it does not belong to Jawitz and I want it back!!!! Never ever rent at this place!
