My wife drives this Vehicle, and her safety is at upmost of importance. We bought our first car with CarMax/StarNissan and they blatantly don’t care how they will go out of their way to ***** you .But because people like CarMax/StarNissan I need to find any possible way to bring these people under the public’s attention On 21 May 2025, Carmax/StarNissan replaced the front brake pads, rear brake drums, and linings on my vehicle. On the same day, I contacted the sales representative to report that the brakes were not performing as expected. I was advised to "give them time" and "not brake too fast or hard", which I found concerning, as this is a serious safety issue. The sales rep then advised that I bring the vehicle in for brake adjustment. The vehicle was booked on 11 June 2025 at Star Nissan and returned to me on 12 June. While driving home from Vanderbijlpark, I sent a voice note to the sales rep indicating that the brakes were shuddering and shaking the steering wheel. He admitted he had not test-driven the vehicle and would speak to the workshop manager. We returned the vehicle again on the weekend of 14 June and were told the brakes had been fixed. On the 22nd of August I phoned the Sales rep and said the brakes are making weird noises and it is not braking as it should. He Voice Noted me back on the 25th of August asking what I would like to do. I asked him if it’s ok to take the vehicle to my local ford dealer in Boksburg. He rep**** and said no problem I must book in the vehicle. Ford Boksburg issued a mechanic’s report confirming that the brake failure was due to poor workmanship/installation by CarMax/StarNissan workshop. The vehicle is now undrivable and remains at Ford Boksburg. Despite this, Carmax/StarNissan has refused verbally and via email to accept responsibility for the repair costs. This refusal.
