I am extremely disappointed with the service from MyRoof and Standard Bank EasySell. The process of paying rates, taxes, and obtaining the municipal clearance certificate on behalf of the seller has now dragged on for more than three weeks, with no progress. Despite my repeated follow-ups, including writing to HelloPeter, there has been no meaningful response. It seems this is a pattern of how they treat their customers—almost as if we are being forced to sell or accept delays, rather than being supported through the process. Buying your first home should be an exciting experience, but instead, these unnecessary delays have turned it into a frustrating and discouraging journey. Unfortunately, MyRoof and EasySell have proven to be unreliable and not an institution I would recommend working with.
Buying a home should be one of the most exciting milestones in life, but Standard Bank and the MyRoof mandate process have completely taken away that joy. Instead of feeling supported, it feels as though we are forcing the Bank to sell us the house. For weeks now, Standard Bank has failed to process the necessary payments, including payments for rates and other obligations that are critical to move the transfer forward. This delay has left us stuck in the same place for over three weeks with no clear answers, no urgency, and no accountability. The excitement of becoming homeowners has been overshadowed by frustration, disappointment, and unnecessary stress caused by Standard Bank’s inability to act timeously. Buying a home should never feel this way. I am calling on Standard Bank to urgently process the required payments and to respect the timelines and responsibilities they owe to their clients. Very disappointed and I'll never go through this journey with them again. Biggest regret.
