Xiaomi E-scooter 4 lite broke after 1km and cant claim under guarantee

I was purchased a Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 lite from a friend that it was gifted to. Brand New in the sealed box. After 1.5kms the scooter started making a loud noise on acceleration and lost most of its power. I have tried to get it repaired under warranty and have only been given the run around across Gauteng to "Approved repairers" only to find out that all the companies I was sent to BY XIAOMI dont work on the Xiaomi scooters and that there is in fact no approved repairer for these. I went with a reputable brand and after next to no use of the product I have absolutely no recourse regarding repairs under warranty. They advertise a 1 year guarantee but its useless. The lengths I went to in attempting to sort this out was exhausting. I have now reached an unresolved end point where the scooter is useless and cannot be repaired. R7000 down the drain. DO NOT BUY XIAOMI SCOOTERS IN SOUTH AFRICA. and if you do, dont expect any warranty from them. Absolutely useless.
