Subject: Urgent Escalation – Unresolved Water Leak and Pipe Burst Good day, I have been reporting a water leak on the municipal pipes outside my property for an extended period. Each time Joburg Water attends to the issue, the problem reoccurs within a month or two. Last year, I logged multiple calls, but they were closed without resolution. When I followed up, I was informed that there was no material available to fix the issue. Meanwhile, the tar road near the pipes has deteriorated, and algae has grown in the affected area. The last call I logged was in December 2024 (Ref: 8006708218), which was closed without resolving the leak. The water has continued leaking since then. On Wednesday, 28/11/2025, the pipe finally burst, causing water to flood the area. I logged an emergency call (Ref: CSDFMC0075481) and reported the severity, but no technicians were dispatched. Due to water soaking my wall and my neighbor’s property, I had to close the valve, leaving me without water since then. On Thursday, 29/11/2025, I called twice to follow up and was assured that technicians from the Randburg depot were assigned and would attend before the end of the day. No one arrived. On Friday, 28/11/2025, I called again and was told the call was still open and being escalated. Shortly after, I received an SMS stating the call was addressed, which was incorrect. When I called back, I was told to log another call as they were not going to help me with a closed call. This is unacceptable. I urgently demand that a team be dispatched immediately to resolve this matter and restore water supply without further delays. Please escalate this to a senior manager and confirm a resolution timeline today.
