So this insurer rejected my device insurance claim for exclusion that are not stated on the agreement signed while I am still awaiting the outcome for the dispute that i logged. I would like to warn everyone to not take any insurance policy with old mutual they leave in their own world and put profit before anything. How can you say loss in public space is not covered and not even consider the reality that most SAns live under with high level of crime. I mean the primary reason for cover for most customers is to guide against this type of risks due to high level of crime. Good thing for me is that this was never diclosed to me nor included in my contract a very material facts which is in breach of TCF principles and consumer protection laws.
I logged my claim on the 1st of December, and to this day I have not received any feedback. I have been following up every day, only to be told that it is still under Omart insurer review. This has been the worst experience ever, especially since there is nothing outstanding from my side. Taking Telkom Insurance is setting yourself up for failure — there is absolutely no urgency from Omart. It takes them forever to finalize a simple claim. I genuinely thought the purpose of insurance was to avoid such inconvenience, but it is now apparent that Omart’s objective is simply to make money. They do not care about their customers.
