I'm writing this review as a warning to others. I bought a shoe from Chekish South Africa on 12 Dec 2025, paid in full via Pay Just Now (first payment taken, followed by two month-end deductions in Dec and Jan). Despite their 7-day delivery policy, I still haven't received my shoe. It's been about 2 months, and I'm extremely disappointed with their lack of communication and service. No response to WhatsApp, email, or any other platform. No accountability, no refund, and no delivery. R900 down the drain. To Checkish SA: Sort out your customer service and honour your delivery commitments. To anyone who's had a similar experience: Please share how you resolved this. I'm desperate for help getting my refund. Hello Peter (Chekish SA), if you're reading this, I'd appreciate a response. Ifc can assist in resolving this, I'd be grateful.
Dear HelloPeter, I'm writing to express my disappointment with Russell's Furniture / Pepkor group (Russells Benoni) . Despite being a well-known brand, my experience was far from satisfactory. After purchasing items, it took the company three weeks to update me on the delivery status. The store staff didn't follow up, and I had to constantly reach out for updates. The delivery team was unprofessional, providing no estimated time of arrival (ETA) or tracking information. This made planning difficult, especially considering most customers have work commitments. Unlike other courier services, Russell's didn't notify me of delivery times or confirm when the items would arrive. Customer service was also lacking. The call center number was unresponsive, with long hold times and no platform for lodging grievances or seeking assistance. Given their extensive network of warehouses, I expect better service from Russell's. Their inability to deliver on time is frustrating, especially for installment purchases where timely payments are crucial. Unfortunately, I won't be considering Russell's or the Pepkor Group for future furniture needs. I still haven't received my items. Sincerely, A very upset customer.
