I so wish there was a minus rating because that's what i-Switch Prepared Metering deserves. I have been buying electricity units and everything has been fine. From time to time I would run out of units and they would switch off the electricity, which is understandable but the balance has never reached more that minus R100 if I'm not mistaken. However, today my electricity went off and when I checked my balance, its on minus R952 which is something that has never happened. i-Switch's explanation is that the meter has not been billing since beginning of October 2025 and that this error caused the balance reading to be inaccurate, showing a positive balance even when the balance was negative. My problem is that I have been fulfilling my responsibility of buying electricity, and i-Switch on their side failed to fix their error since October and I was never notified of this error, I kept on buying and using electricity without the knowledge of any errors which i-Switch is now claiming on the 7th of January, three months after they discovered the claimed billing errors. i-Switch is making their failure and incompetence my problem whereby I have to now pay R952 before they switch on my electricity, the R952 which i knew nothing about while on their side they had knowledge of this for three months and did nothing about it. Tell me how this is fair to a customer that has been buying electricity.
