I'm sharing this on behalf of my employer who has been struggling to get a basic "Paid up" letter of his account which was settled in 2015. Since Saturday the 14th of March 2026 we have been battling with phone reps over repeated calls, hangups and redirection to still have zero outcome. He has managed to get paid up letters very quickly from other institutions but NOT from MFC. The level of competency leaves allot to be desired. Shocking service, or lack therof.
I was with Dicovery Health for years, lost my job and had to cancel my insurance but rejoined as soon as I could. I was then penalized for a 12 months waiting period for previous conditions because of late joining. Recently I've been diagnosed with F4 Liver cirrhosis of which the Doctor had to do a life threatening test (Bone Marrow Biopsy) and discovery refused to pay anything even though it falls under PMB (Prescribed Medical Benefits). After numerous emails I sent to the Doctor with the correct coding they still refused and say I'm in the waiting period. A dispute was made and it's now day 5 with still no reply from Dicovery regarding the treatment I must undergo for a gastroscopy for varicose veins that could burst at any time but this does not seem to be a concern of Discovery - Pieter Mc Master
