In my experience, poor management is the defining feature of this workplace. Many of the colleagues come across as extremely pretentious, and the general manager seems determined to lead by example. In public, he plays the role of the perfect GM, constantly praising the branch as though it’s flawless. Behind the scenes, however, the reality is far less impressive. I personally witnessed staff being shouted at, spoken to in a degrading way, and criticised on a very personal level rather than in any constructive or professional manner. Even interviews felt inappropriate, with questions that strayed well beyond what should ever be asked in a workplace setting. The overall environment came across as ********* and deeply unprofessional. Some members of management (not all) appeared to believe they were untouchable, while employee rights were treated as optional extras. For example, teller sellers were, in my experience, discouraged from taking proper lunch breaks—something that even seemed to contradict the company’s own code of conduct. I would absolutely not recommend working here. My time at this branch was miserable, and the constant staff turnover speaks for itself. Honestly, if this is what passes for leadership, it’s surprising the place is still operating the way it is.
