I’ve been a loyal Evetech customer for 9 years, and this is by far the most disappointing experience I’ve had with them. I ordered and paid for a brand new SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 on 10th December 2025 for both work and gaming. Instead of a new product, I received a used unit. After some back and forth, Evetech eventually sent me a replacement on 19 December 2025 (already a major inconvenience). I was on leave until 19th January 2026, so I only had the chance to properly test the replacement then. Immediately, I noticed the below issues: - The audio would cut out randomly on both PC and console - especially when playing a fast paced game (almost as if the headset couldn’t keep up). - Mic volume was extremely low. My colleagues on Teams calls could barely hear me. This is clearly not normal behaviour for a headset. I performed my own troubleshooting: - Tested on USB A and C ports. - Used a longer cable (away from the device so less interference). - Factory reset. - Tested on Windows, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PS5. The issues persisted despite the above. I logged an RMA, sent the unit back, and Evetech received it on 29th January 2026. After two and a half weeks of “testing,” they claimed no faults were found and returned the headset to me on the 16th Feb 2026. Within 30 minutes of testing it myself, the exact same issues occurred again. To make matters worse, the headset was returned dirty and with light scratches on one of the earcups. At this point, I effectively have a R2800 paperweight (plus the cost of accessories), since I can’t use it for gaming due to audio dropouts, nor for work because the mic is unusually soft. To make matters worse, I sent their support another mail yesterday and they want me to send the unit back for more “testing”. I want a replacement unit! If this does not get resolved it will be the straw that broke the Camel’s back for me and I’ll be taking my money elsewhere.
