Super Expensive

<p>Extremely expensive. Took my dog to the honeydew ridge branch get a lump/growth checked out and to get a quote for it to be removed. <br />R320 for consultation, this is normal. But when it came to pay they charged me over R600. All the vet did was stick a needle in the growth and checked it under a microscope, that was the extra R300. I was not told during the consultation that this will be extra.</p> <p>She examined the dog and said we must remove a tooth and do laser on the skin. Quoted me R6500.00 to do this.. The dog is old but still has a healthy appetite and eats fine without pain. <br />I wish they just quoted me for what I wanted them to do, which is remove the lump. I didn’t want blood tests to be done. I didn’t want the growth to be sent away to a lab. The dog is old I just want them to remove the lump to make the rest of the dog’s life more comfortable. But clearly it is more about money than about the animal. They say they do the surgery under supervision of two vets. I don’t care. Why make it more expensive. I didn’t ask for two vets.</p> <p>I asked if I could take the quote with me. They responded saying they don’t give quotes out to customers cause they don’t want other vets to see their rates. So technically not a quote then if you can’t take it with you to another vet. It proves that they are aware of how much they over charge. Long story short. I am not a vet, but I am not an idiot and I know when I am being ripped off. Will not go back there. Will not recommend them. Another vet just a few km’s away quoted me only R1500 to remove the lump. Oh yes, and according to them if I only remove the lump and not do the tooth it will come up to R8000. Somehow that makes sense????</p>
