Gert installed our invertor and a few months later we started experience problems with it. It is faulty and we contacted Gert as the equipment is under warranty. We have called Gert numerous times and if he does take the call, he promises to come out to look at the invertor. We have been calling him since November 2023 and now almost a year later later, he still has not honored his promises of coming out to check the invertor. We have also sent him numerous messages and had no response. We have invested a lot of money in the system and now have absolutely no after service at all. We will also have to approach the ombudsman as others have in this case if he does not honor his service
<p>I am a victim of internet fraud and money was transferred out of my cheque and credit card accounts. This was reported to the ABSA fraud line as soon as I discovered the illegal transactions. All forms and police documentation were speedily submitted and only a week later I received a response and case number. Another week later I received an email with the name and number of the investigation officer who I contacted. I was informed that the case is being investigated and feedback would be given the next day. Four days later roughly 40% of the stolen amount was paid into my account without any communication from ABSA. I called the investigation officer again (after sending emails with no response received) and was told that is the amount that was recovered and the investigation was still ongoing and has been referred to management.</p> <p> </p> <p>How can various fraudulent transactions done on the same day not be interlinked? I was also told to keep in mind that ABSA is not liable for the loss, yet by paying back a portion of the money surely indicate ABSA accepting liability.</p> <p>It has now been over three weeks since the fraudulent transactions were reported and as a client I feel that ABSA has no empathy for my situation. Clearly the normal man in the street does not get the same response and attention as high profile clients who had the same misfortune. (Refer to front page of Beeld on 4 May 2017).</p> <p>I have been a client of ABSA for over 40 years and no longer feel that my personal information is safe and secure and that compromised information of clients are not seen in a serious light.</p>
