Aston Moses was very friendly and informative and made the signing up really easy.
This review is on behalf of Shirley van Deventer who took guests to the Hollow Tree Restaurant (Durbanville) for lunch. (3pm on Thur 6 Dec) First impressions were bad, dirty entrance and bad odour. No other guests in restaurant , that should of been a warning, as most other restaurants were full. But they decided to give it a chance. Power then went off... so they ordered dishes that could be made on gas or without power... They ordered 3 salads (2 Salmon and 1 spicy chicken) and 1 pasta Alfredo dish. Salads were very disappointing, no dressing was served separately or on salad and it was mostly leaves with one old piece of cucumber on chicken salad.... and the salmon had 2 very thin strips of smoked salmon on .....for R95 you expect alot more.... Pasta tasted okay, but way too much runny sauce....pasta was swimming in sauce... The waitress disappeared after serving meal and could not be located to bring salad dressing...She only arrived when they were nearly finished..... In General a very bad experience and embarrassing to have brought guests to that restaurant. Asked for coffee, even water to be boiled on gas and instant coffee would of been fine....but they were told no coffee or tea could be made....They spent over R900 on lunch there and it was definitely not worth it....bad food and bad service.... Don't think they will be open for long...We will not go back....pity as the Hollow Tree on Old Oak Road is a much better Restaurant and the flagship. Staff should go there to be trained properly, kitchen and waiters....
