MTN agent Homemark changed a prepaid line to a post-paid line (Contract) without the authorization of the line user. Due process was not followed in doing this action. The same MTN then suspended the line putting in jeopardy the user of the line. The line has been in use for more that 5 years. Banking OTP's, security company OTP's, and other critical links to this number were suspended without authorization by the registered user. MTN then requests the user to run around and get affidavits from the South African Police Services, copies of certified ID documents for an error that occurred from their end. MTN gave a reference number 1-55556066060 for the change of the line from Pre-paid to Post-paid.
Cancellation mail sent on 16.05.2024 for contract related to line 0832950651. Confirmed receipt of mail and requested further information on 16.05.2024 and response on 17.05.2024. Second reminder sent on 01.06.2024 for the cancellation. Still confirmed receipt and never cancelled the contract. Called in on 01 July 2024. Sent from pillar to post but ended up with a rude retentions officer from Cape Town. Name was Asanda. She said that she is Asanda from Retentions Cape Town. No surname. Only cancelled the contract on 01.07.2024. Gave Ref no 1-45566304608. Received mail today from MTN that stated that they do not have transcripts of the mails ( Which I have) that were sent to them in May and in June 2024.
Great service from Mr Gerber at Hi-Q Centurion. Thank you to the team that assisted me. Friendly, welcoming, attentive and cost effective service.
Upgraded and took a new contract for 2 years for a set amount monthly. Now received an e-mail that the contract is going up as of 01 April 2023. The terms to increase the contract are not on the initial contract. Complained to MTN and ICASA. No response. The amount given on the contract is not the true amount. Call it bad advertising.
