FixForward's proposition of connecting homeowners with vetted, 'expert' contractors, and providing guidance throughout a project, is a compelling one when there are so many dubious tradesmen out there. The social development angle is also to be supported. Unfortunately what ultimately matters is the end result for the customer and in this regard I can only say my experience was a very poor one and I would not use them again. I hired one of their 'hand-picked' contractors for the very simple job of replacing water-damaged exterior timber planks and doing a full repaint. The contractor was very affable and willing but just a few short months later paint is blistering and peeling off in multiple areas and revealing rotten timber planks that weren't replaced. On contacting FixForward to voice my disappointment and request that they provide technical support to the contractor to help remedy the situation, given they clearly didn't know what they were doing, FixForward simply replied that they wouldn't be held responsible to cover any costs (I didn't ask for any financial compensation) and wouldn't provide any assistance beyond offering to refer another tradesman. This outcome is inconsistent with the empty promises they make on their website with the customer left having to navigate themselves out of the mess when things go wrong.
