Urban Home Furniture is a fraud
This company is a fraud. I paid a deposit and was promised a 4 week lead time to delivery of a TV stand. The company however failed to finalise the design and missed all deadlines set by themselves. When enquiring about cancellation policy I was advised cancel is upon failure to deliver or incorrect design or cancellation within 7 days. Four weeks later I still had no design to approve let alone installation of the stand as promised. Upon my request to cancel the order the owner blames me the labour and materials costs incurred. To my understanding what labour and materials would be incurred if a design hasn’t been finalised. The customer treatment is appalling and the tone used in communicating with customers leaves much to be desired. Worst of all the audacity to cry wolf that I should understand that they are a black business and such wouldn’t happen with larger corporate. This brings shame to honest professional black business out there. They simply failed to deliver and now refusing to refund my 65% deposit. The owners EQ and customer service is appalling. Stay away if you don’t want to be scammed.

Bad service - incomplete job
Similar to another complainant, I had ordered curtains from Sharons interiors 13th of April and was promised installation on the 8th of May and required to make final payment prior to the commencement of installation. We then agreed to do the installation on the 18th of May as I was unavailable on the proposed date. Come the 18th the installation team arrived late with 1/4 of the required curtains and work up to 3pm and just left, I was promised that they would return the following day to complete the job. To my surprise they did not pitch. Mid-day I was the one to follow up with Sharon to be told that they would not be coming. The next day they arrived and still did not have the curtains, to my surprise have the curtains had not even been sewn, claiming there was a mix up with the order. I was promised an installation of the final curtains a week later and after multiple excuses and lies I sit here 10 days later with no curtains. This contractor is dishonest and lacks accountability, delays have been pinned on everyone else but her. BEWARE! I am in support of small business all the way, but to be ripped off like this is a SHAME! Stick to the tried and tested! Don't get ripped off
