Kirby vacuum and money paid for servicing and spares gone!
Mark of AZ Kirby Service collected my Kirby for servicing, quoted an amount for repair, servicing and shampoo and promised delivery the next day after receiving payment. Payment made as requested into an account named Aghsan At Coe. He did not deliver as promised, then claimed that the motor of the Kirby was faulty when he subsequently tested it, and quoted an additional large sum to replace the supposedly faulty component. The Kirby had been in excellent condition and had not had any "motor problems" prior to this. Delivery promise was once again not kept, after paying the additional amount. Then another story about another part burning out and needing replacement at an additional cost. Paid for the third part, and waited for weeks as the part "had to come from JHB/overseas/customs" - he kept changing his story each time I enquired. Eventually he just ignored my calls and messages. A month later, despite a final demand, still no Kirby and no trace of the parts and spares which were paid for. The address of the business given on his adverts shows no sign of AZ Vacuums - there is a cannabis shop at the location listed, so collecting one's machine is also not possible. Do not, under any circumstances, use this "business".

Used goods received and return declined
I purchased 12V batteries, which were sold as a bundle of two, from Takealot. These were delivered in my absence, as I had to take an unscheduled trip. On my return 8 days after delivery, I opened the box to find that I had been sent one new shrink wrapped battery in an intact box, and one open, scratched, dirty obviously used battery in a broken box. These were taped together as a bundle. I logged a return as I had been sent a used item in damaged packaging. The return eligibility was confirmed and the goods were collected. Subsequently the return was declined because it had to supposedly be returned within 7 days. So Takealot sends used goods purchased as new, and then refuses to refund. It appears that they didn’t even read the my explanation of my complaint accompanying the return. It remains to be seen whether they will return the goods that were purchased. Congratulations Takealot, you have just lost a (very good) customer!
