I asked ABSA to close my savings account during the last quarter of 2014. This has never been done and they keep on sending me text messages requesting money to be deposited into this account as it is dormant and attracting bank charges. When I called the call centre this afternoon I was asked to go into an ABSA branch again to close the account. I refuse to do so as I do not have the time. I would like to request that this account be closed without having to visit a branch.
