I had a Livoltek 5kW all in one system installed by an approved installer and the system worked so well that, after selling my house I am installing the same again, although I am adding a second battery to be able to switch off the grid about 95% of the time. The system sometimes had a hic-up, but phoning the support service in Jhb., they sorted the problems amicably. I read that some people are unhappy, but it is not a plug-and-play system - you have to get an installer that knows what to do and you will be happy for ever after.
Don't ever think of using ABSA bank! I have tried to close my ABSA account for more than 6 months and every time they have a new story - I have emigrated and live in Europe so things are a bit difficult, but one should be able to resolve issues. I had to personally sign and courier documents to Johannesburg, which I did and even have the name of the lady who signed for the delivery. I also have a financial company registering my emigration at the Reserve Bank and with SARS and they are also in contact with ABSA, but to no avail. ABSA now says that they have changed their procedures and I must send them different forms, but the person at ABSA we are dealing with says the forms are OK?? Every month I have to pay R460 bank fees - and I am sure somebody is pocketing this mony.
I have been an ABSA customer for 45 years and always thought that the services of all banks were on par, but ABSA travel insurance definitely is not. On their website it states clearly that when you by airplane tickets with your credit card, all the tickets for the group are covered. This is until you are directed to Bryte, who are their agents for this and you get told because you paid R105 000 for 7 tickets with your world card, this is not the case - only husband and wife and 3 kids under 18 are covered! We had to buy additional cover for 5 persons (but this time from Standard Bank!)
