I drive a 2011 Ford Fiesta Ambiente. On April 23rd my car was shaking and had no power. I had the AA tow my car to the nearest Ford dealership. I was informed by the service manager that this was a fault on all these models and Ford had a bulletin out stating an extension of all vehicle warranties due to the numerous faults on this specific electronic part on the automatic gearbox. This factory fault was so extensive that they had no idea when they could source a part to do the repair. During this process I was assured that Ford had to carry the cost due to it being a factory fault. I then received a call on April 30 to request my extended warranty details with Wesbank. Apparently, due to the fact that I had used another reputable supplier (part of RMI and AA certified)to service my vehicle twice I no longer had any cover. These were standard services that in no way went close to this electronic part which is part of an international Ford bulletin. This hardly seems like a logical way to handle a factory fault? I was sold a vehicle with a factory fault and I have to pay for the repair at R20 000?! Really?
Divorce RPD is very quick to respond and seem quite legitimate. Once you have paid the R800 to them they disappear. I have called, I have emailed, I have whatsapped. People need to be warned.
