I visited Life Day Spa Century City on Friday, 13 June, for what was meant to be a relaxing afternoon — a Mother’s Day gift from my husband. I booked a series of treatments including a Hollywood wax, rasul, and massage. Unfortunately, what should have been a self-care experience turned into a painful and upsetting ordeal. The waxing the****** made inappropriate, shaming comments about my body and seemed visibly irritated from the outset. Mid-treatment, she accidentally cut me down there during trimming aggressively. I had to stop the session due to the pain and bleeding. I reported the incident to the hostess (Aunty Avril - who is a star!!!), who was very compassionate and reported it to management. She then came back and confirmed that management is dealing with it — but no management approached me at the spa. No apology. No incident report. No follow-up. After emailing management, I received a brief acknowledgment and a vague note about handing it over to their insurers. That was it. No check-in on my wellbeing. No explanation of what would be done internally. No human concern. The most disappointing part? Not the injury — but the lack of care. Life Day Spa brands itself as a premium wellness experience, yet they failed on the most basic levels of compassion, communication, and accountability. I’ve had to seek medical care to ensure the injury heals properly. I had hoped this would be taken more seriously. Sadly, it seems like once I walked out the door, so did their responsibility.
