I recently purchased a used Renault Megane GT220 from the abovementioned dealer.

I picked up the vehicle, and did not know that is should come with a SD card that enables the navigation system. All vehicles in its range come with one and it is valued at just over R4 700.

Once I gained this information, I contacted the dealer and enquired about the SD card, they advised me that they would see what they could do and I should provide them with a quote.

Once I provided them with the quote, obtained from a Renault dealer, they advised that this was not their problem and they could not assist, as they did not know what I had done with the vehicle since delivery.

Let us look at the possibilities here:

Assumption 1 (I have the card): Let's assume I had the card, I would have absolutely nothing to gain from aquiring a second one for my personal use, nor is there much of a market for these items as the vehicle should come with it in the first place.

Assumption 2 (it was stolen from my vehcile): Firstly, this is highly improbable since I have not even had the vehicle washed or left it unattended with anyone at this point, but for arguments sake, lets forget that. Should someone have broken into my vehicle, they surely would have taken other valuables such as my wallet etc. so it is highly unlikely that someone broke into my car with the sole purpose of stealing an SD card that is unique for the vehicle.

I am sure you can see my frustration with this incident now. I feel very let down by the dealer. Essentially, their negligence is costing me a fair amount of money.

Kind regards

Duncan
