I love this lab, it's affordability and the pathologists generally do a good job drawing blood but they are the only lab in SA that denies a patient their rights to their own blood results! Complete disregard for POPIA, and I dont know how they still get away with it. Their invoicing system is a disaster, requesting an invoice for tax returns or medical aid submissions just doesn't work. There's no unit price per test on the invoices just a list of tests and a total. If you pressed for money, it's great, if not save yourself the hassle and stick with lancet and ampath where your results and invoices are literally an app away.
I took home contents insurance and added 3 portable devices. The sign up process is easy, online and send relavent pics to verify. My two devices were ****** on 18 March, I submitted claim on 19 March and it was sent to an assessor on the 22 March. Hollard is the underwriter and my case was “investigated” by the validators. This process took about 7 work days. The claim was finalised on 5 April. There are options of voucher retailers to choose from, eg Incredible Connections and Samsung, Apple Store etc which is a physical card that would need to be delivered, or a SMS Takealot voucher which I opted for. Received 6 April. I claimed for a Samsung Note 20 and a Samsung S20 FE with a total voucher less excess of R29000. The consultants are excellent and communicated effectively the whole time. The only suggestion is to provide vouchers for stores when one can buy second hand as a you are providing a voucher for the same device theoretically however a brand new one is not the same price as a second hand (to put you in the same position as before it was ******). I would have preferred to get the same devices second hand(note 20 not available brand new anymore) but had to downgrade as I was forced to buy brand new.
