Avoid AVIS - withhold deposit and blames for damages
I recently rented a vehicle from Avis Budget South Africa OR Thambo)and had one of the most disappointing customer experiences I’ve ever encountered. After returning the vehicle in perfect condition and well within the agreed time, the vehicle was checked by two of their Employees and gived the ok… and hour later after i have boarded the plane back to Cpt. was phoned and accused of causing damage that supposedly occurred, The photos provided by Avis even show a timestamp proving that the photos was taken at 17:30 with aparent damage, but i returned the vehicle at 14:00. Despite my clear evidence, Avis attempted to hold me liable for damages I did not cause. This type of behavior is not only ********* but borders on theft. Instead of resolving the issue with transparency and fairness, I was met with resistance and delay in refunding my money. As a paying customer, it is unacceptable to be treated in this manner. I have escalated the matter to the Motor Industry Ombudsman (MIOSA) and SAVRALA for investigation, and I will continue to make the public aware of these practices to protect other customers from the same treatment. If you value honesty, accountability, and fair treatment, I strongly advise you to reconsider before booking with Avis Budget. There are other rental companies in South Africa who respect their customers and act with integrity.

FAKE Perfumes - not parallel imports - 100% FAKE and they steal your money
Takealot sells FAKE perfumes!!!! They claim the perfumes are "parallel imports" but this statement is 100% incorrect - Parallel imports clarly states that the product is 100% authentic and non-counterfeit. The products I recived was 100% fake - and I noticed it as soon as I opened the box - how else would you be able to see the product content??? I lodged a immediate return/refund request and they collected it the following day - after I had to follow up, I was informed that they are rejecting my request for refund since "the product has been used" I never used the product and only opened the box inspect the purchased goods. So now Takealot is sitting with my money and the fake perfume... and they quote their return policy..... this apparently gives then the right to sell fake products and then hide behind their return policy. What an absolute disgrace!
