I was persuaded to download the app by American Express so that I could benefit from their Lifestyle Rewards programme. What a waste of time! People need to know that if you download the app on an Android device, there is no way to logout and if you close the app and then open it later, it doesn't ask you to login again using your private username and password. So, in effect, the app is always available to anyone who might use your phone - big problem if you should lose your phone. Added to that, I can't use the points as the app doesn't recognise them as part of my balance. I did send an enquiry to the support email address but that was a week ago and I'm still waiting for a reply.
I went to Mazista Tiles in North Riding, Johannesburg to buy a few roof tiles for my house. They told me that the tile I wanted was out of stock and wouldn't be in stock until next January. They directed me to another supplier in Bramley - a 60 km round trip for me. Because the traffic was so bad I went home first thinking I would call them before I set out on that trek. When I got home the guy who was doing my roof repairs said he didn't believe Mazista that the tile was out of stock. So he went there, spoke to the same salesperson (Collen) that I did - and came back with the tiles.<br> <br> So they had stock all along, they just lied to me. No doubt too much trouble for a few tiles. Great customer service.
