Call centre interactions are widely criticised for transferring customers between departments without resolution. While a small number of individual staff members receive praise, systemic failures in digital security, complaint handling, and home loan administration dominate the feedback landscape.
The most common complaint about Nedbank, based on Hellopeter's AI analysis of recent customer reviews, is Digital Banking & Security. Customers report widespread ***** incidents, app suspensions, sim swaps, and unauthorised transactions. The ***** department takes 6-9 weeks with minimal feedback, and many clients receive partial or no refunds. App glitches, login failures, and FICA-related blocks compound the frustration. I transfered money to a credit card that's closed weeks ago, they asked me to produce proof that the transaction was done this was 3 weeks ago and I keep calling in with long quing time. I eventually reached them and they mentioned my refund was processed but to date nothing has come into my account.

App**** for building loan. All costs and BOQ's submitted. 9days before we started building an assessor finally came out and determined that according to their system they now work on 30k a square. We are expected to build to window level and they will then decide if they will finance the project. No problem I cancelled the building loan. Was sent a statement with a due date for payment being June 2026. I responded on the email stating that I will pay the 12k odd end of May to cancell the bond. 1 May 2026 a debit order of R6170 goes off my aco**** without notice and the amount does not reflect any amount on the invoice / statement received. So Nedbank can simply access your bank account and take money from it as they wish?! After emails and calls to every contact I can find a lady phones stating it was part of the settlement to close the bond. How is this possible? I tried to talk to them by cutting off the garages which will in effect cut off 60squares we will not build. They refused support and takes money out of my account without authorisation. Surely this cannot be legal. I have been wiating for an updated statement for over a week - no invoice, no updated statement just 6grand missing in action. No response to date despite more follow up emails and calls.

I settled my Credit Card on the 25th of April and called Nedbank on the 27th of April and requested that my Credit Card be closed and I be issued with a Paid Up Letter. I was told that the Credit Card would be closed in 48 hours and issued with a Reference Number. Its been 7 days later and my Credit Card was not closed. Nobody reached out to me to explain why, so I called Nedbank only to discover that my request was not actioned and now I've been told it will be closed in another 72 Hours...its been more than 72 Hours since my first call on the 27th of April, why must I wait a further 72 Hours? Very very disappointing service!

Dear Netbank Team, I am extremely dissatisfied with your ongoing failure to update your system after payments are made, especially on credit card accounts. Despite proof of payment, accounts are incorrectly reflected as unpaid, which is unacceptable. Furthermore, your actions appear to be in conflict with NCS guidelines, as customers are threatened with blacklisting while valid payments have already been made. This creates unnecessary stress and financial harm. It is concerning that customer interests seem to be disregarded, while extremely high interest rates — up to 29.25% fixed — continue to be charged. This reflects a lack of accountability and fair treatment. I request that my account be corrected immediately by the ICT and that this matter be addressed with the seriousness it deserves. Sincerely,
