I made a booking for an anniversary dinner at Algarve Restaurant in Kuils River on August 6th, 2021. #Win. On arrival, we were greeted and welcomed by a friendly waiter. The atmosphere was relaxing, soft guitar music played. I got the feeling of being somewhere in the Middle East. Just the right ambiance. After the waiter explained the menu, we placed our order and enjoyed our drinks. She then brought a candle in a beautifully decorated stand, lit it and wished us a happy anniversary. The food was better than I imagined it to be. We ordered different dishes- lamb curry and chicken akhni. Presented beautifully. Best lamb curry I tasted in a long time. Their malva pudding with custard was delectable. The service was excellent, the staff friendly and the warm atmosphere just add that extra little bit of magic to make you feel like you are in the Middle East. Garret and Regina Isaacs. #WIN
On 23 December 2015 I called Sylvia at Sunnyfield Packing. My complaint was as follows: I bought their basmati rice at Spar in Kuils River and when I cooked it, it did not look like, smell or taste like basmati rice. It was just ordinary long grain rice packed in a basmati rice packet. She asked me to submit an email with my complain, which I did.She responded by saying they will attend to it in January and that the 2 kg and 5 kg are not packed by them, they receive it already packed from the supplier. On 19 February I called again. Sylvia said their computer system crashed, their IT guys could not retrieve anything and I had to send another mail with my contact details and the nature of my complaint. They will send a rep from Cape Town to see if my complain is valid. So I sent another mail with the relevant details. It is now the end of March and I am still waiting to hear from them. I just find it odd that a business have no back up system for their computers. As I am unemployed, I can ill afford unnecessary telephone calls.
I just want to compliment the staff at Beantree Coffee Shop in Zevenwacht Mall, Kuils River, Cape Town, South Africa. I was greeted friendly and seated, The service was prompt, the food well presented and delicious. The atmosphere in the shop was relaxed. There was 4 other couples seated, but it was not very busy. My waiter checked on me constantly. I enjoyed the breakfast, read the newspaper in between, paid my bill and left. The staff members on duty in the front of the shop, greeted me with a smile as I left. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
On Monday, 09 February 2015, I popped into this little coffee shop for a light breakfast. I first enquired at the till before siting down. The guy manning the till was very friendly and made me feel right at home. The day's newspapers were neatly and visibly folded. I took a newspaper and sat down. The waiter greeted, we discussed the menu and I ordered the light breakfast and a cup of coffee. The atmosphere in the coffee shop was tranquil, there are even facilities for your laptop. I was given a choice of different types of coffee. The waiter constantly checked if I was okay or if I needed anything else. I enjoyed the breakfast and coffee and was told by the waiter that they brew their own blend. I was made to feel welcome and at home. I would highly recommend The Blend in Roeland Street, Cape Town for their hospitality. Thank you.
On Sunday, 14 December 2014 I went to lunch at De Kelder after making reservations on the telephone. My husband arrived 5 minutes before me and was seated. When I arrived, I waited for the hostess to seat me.I was 2nd in a queue of 4. The hostess seated the first person. Then she came back and took in the people behind me. The last person(4th) was also seated after that, I was totally ignored. When I was finally seated by a different hostess, I told her what happened. My husband and me ordered lambsneck with vegetables, a glass of white wine and a juice. The meat was tasteless. When the waiter brought the bill, it didn't correspond with the food we ate and my husband pointed it out to him. He arrived with the correct bill, we paid and left. I notified the restaurant of the incident in an email on 28 December 2014. On 07 January 2015, they sent a reply asking what email address I sent my complaint to (after I posted to their facebook page to remind them of work ethic). I replied immediately. To this day I am still waiting on a respond from them.
