Extremely poor service from this company. I booked in my brush cutter for repairs on 5 February 2024. On the 5th March 2024 they notified me that it ready however after payment and during collection test it was found out that the problem it was booked in for was not repaired. I made numerous follow ups telephonically (all yielded nothing except a promise to call back which they never did). On 28 March 2024 I requested for a refund and provided banking details - Denise indicated that it will take 10 working days for the money to reflect in my account. As usual, we are past 10 days, they have neither refunded me nor returned my machine.
I have had a cheque account with ABSA with an overdraft on it. I paid the overdraft amount through arrangement with ABSA attorney's (namely MacRoberts Attorneys). Upon paying the outstanding amount I contacted ABSA to close the account and they refused saying that the attorney should be the one closing the account. I contacted MacRoberts and they failed to close the account (as the account was active but blocked for use ABSA continued to charge me the monthly service fee charges for an account that was not usable and which I requested that it be closed but they refused.<br> <br> I made numerous follows ups with Eugene Potgieter of MacRoberts Attorneys regarding this matter, all he kept promising was to sort it out and get back to me (and for about 2 years he never did). From January 2016 I am being contacted by new attorneys (namely Hammond Pole Attorneys) claiming to be acting on behalf of ABSA to recover the alleged outstanding amount on my inactive and unusable cheque account. I find this to be an unbecoming conduct by ABSA and their attorneys. I have also noted that ABSA has written off the amounts but I continue to be harassed by the attorneys on the same matter.
At the beginning of December 2014, I terminated my Discovery health and vitality membership with effect from 31 December 2014 - membership certificate was issued to this effect confirming the cancellation. To my surprise Discovery Health still deducted membership fees from me in January 2015. on the 16 January 2015 I called requesting the refund (I was told the request has been send to billing specialist to refund me), nothing happened. On the 2nd February 2015 I made a follow up and was requested to send proof that I was not getting any employer subsidy - I emailed my payslip to and receipt of it was confirmed and I was promised that I will receive the refund in 7 days, to date still nothing happened. On the same day (2 Feb 2015 - I logged a call to their internal complaint (Ref No 3697898297), to date no one has responded to my complain. I called again on the 9 Feb 2015 making a follow up on the refund, I was told that the billing specialist says they cannot refund me. To date I still have not been refunded both the membership fees and there's no light that I will ever be refunded whilst the company is illegally keeping my money and earning interest on it.
