Sour Mango incident <br> <br> On Friday 27 March I flew from Cape Town to Johannesburg on a return flight for the day to attend a funeral. The return ticket cost more than R3000. On checking in at OR Tambo at the on line booking on Friday evening, the boarding pass indicated the flight departure time for flight JE173 as 20h00 which was correct, but the boarding time as 20h40. This is the only airline with a boarding time after the flight departure time.<br> The whole evening we waited at the departure gate without any Mango ground staff communicating the reason for the delay or likely departure time. At around 21h30, and hour and 30 minutes after the scheduled departure time we were told to move to another floor and deoarture gate. Still no communication as to the deoarture time.<br> <br> We eventually landed in Cape Town at 0h30am the next day, two hours 30mins after scheduled arrival time. During the flighy the cabin attendents dis not even offer a complimentary water or showed any compassion to the passengers who were travelling with small kids who were exhausted from the long wait. Due to the poor service, communication and \dont care"attitude of Mango I shall never fly with Mango again. <br> <br> <br> """
Nine months ago I called out Action TV (ph: 021 423 9117) of Kloof Street, Gardens, Cape Town, to sort out a DSTV reception problem and to install an Explora DSTV decoder. They overcharged me with a R1600 invoice (number 11973) which was nearly 3 times their original quote. Included in the invoice charge was a R200 charge for a 4-way splitter which costs about R60 retail at Ellies or Space TV. They also charged for the supply and fitment of a replacement LNB.<br> <br> When I recently experienced reception problems (E48-32 DSTV error message) again, I contacted Action TV, but they were not interested coming out to site to repair their workmanship. I then contacted another DSTV installer who informed me that the LNB unit which Action TV fitted was faulty and appears to be a 2nd hand unit which they installed. This was most probably the reason why the unit only lasted for 9 months. <br> <br> I would not recommend any person to use Action TV for any DSTV or repairs as they overcharge for their work, install used parts and they are not willing to attend to problems emmating from their workmanship. <br> <br> Regards<br> <br> Andre du Preez
