I bought a Zartek Com 8 Combo two way radio at Outdoorwarehouse two months ago. After about 10 charges the one radio would not hold its charge. I took it back to the dealer to send back to the factory to investigate and repair. I have lost faith in this model and wanted to be credited so I could buy a more robust model, but Zartek will not allow the dealer to do this. So now I sit without a radio I need for security and R950 for about 3 weeks.

I was then told that when the radios came back, Zartek wants R60 for postage!!!

So in the end I will have paid R1060 for a two way radio that was faulty and I will have to do without it for 3 weeks, during which I will need it when alone on a farm.

Surely all this is contrary to the Consumer Protection Act?

Lesson is - never buy ny Zartek product
