African 4x4 Rental goes sour

Picked up 4x4 rental in Maun. Vehicle was in bad state with number of things broken (detailed below). <br> <br> There was a punctured spare tyre which meant we had to drive around Maun looking for a replacement - wasting crucial rental time. The handbrake hardly worked. There was no torch with the vehicle, the following were broken, lantern, the zips on the mosquito net, the rubber mats and a zip on a sleeping bag. <br> <br> However, our biggest disgruntlement is with three things:<br> <br> First - we thought we had ordered a satellite phone for the vehicle after Bushlore recommended it. We hadn't but when we complained they retaliated rather than explaining politely there was a miscommunication. <br> <br> Second, from the very first day of rental, we had a rat eat our food, our zipper on our travel suitcase and our clothes. Bushlore head office denied any liability for this despite the guys on the ground admitting that a rat may have got into the vehicle in their storage facility. We have lost significant money replacing bag and clothes, and then there is the food.<br> <br> Lastly, they tried to blame an issue with the clutch plate on us as part of retaliation. They dropped this quickly showing there was no merit.
