Dean Cornish of D-C Glass & Aluminum (Pty) Ltd supplied us aluminum doors and were introduced via the main building contractor. Their upfront service was normal. However when asked to investigate a warranty issue six months after installation, it seems that he or the company doesn't feel anything for customer service or satisfaction. Only on the third agreed appointment did a team come out to investigate. They arrived one hour late and although all information of defects including photos were sent to them upfront, they could not resolve the problem immediately and rescheduled another appointment. Two agreed appointments thereafter were not honored either. Not even a phone call to say they will not be making the appointment. Since then all phone calls are been left unanswered. In total 5 appointments were made where we waited in vain. Very disappointing as the issues are small and easy resolved according to the team's investigation.
Warning - please be very careful when dealing with Grant Andrews of Baruwi Construction Projects. Although he comes across friendly with a can-do attitude, this is not what he provided us with. We had a very bad and devastating experience with him when we contracted him in the last quarter of 2014 to renovate our house. To date he has retained almost R300 000.00 of our money paid to him for work to be done and materials - but did not complete the outstanding work. In addition he has caused almost a further R 300 000.00 of damages to our property due to gross negligence.
Further the insurance certificate he provided us with (which should have covered any damages) was false and did not exist and he is not insured for any Works.
We are aware of another homeowner in a similar situation as a result of Grant Andrews. Grant Andrews of Baruwi Construction Projects was introduced to us by John Nell owner of John.M.Nell Architect. To avoid being in the same situation do not pay any large lump sums in advance and rather pay suppliers directly.
Fault (no service) was logged with Telkom on the 05th of May. Although telephonically escalated several times, even speaking to the area manager, Telkom has not yet acted on and or repaired the faulty line. Their initial SMS states that the problem will be resolved in 8 days. We are running at 17 days already and counting. I am sure Telkom will send you a bill for rental services for the full duration however.
