I made a booking for accommodation for 26 April 2024 at a guesthouse in Potchefstroom. However, when I arrived at the accommodation they were never informed by booking.com of my stay. We were only sleeping over one night and the guesthouse were already fully booked and also the surrounding accommodation as there were a large sporting event taking place at NWU. I then tried to call booking.com to get a resolution and help. After holding on for more than 25 min and no answer I gave up. Then tried the message service of booking.com to see if I can get help there. However, the service from booking.com is so bad I got no reply. The first reply I got was to rate my stay at the guesthouse the next day. However, as I did not stay there how can I rate the stay. Booking.com then only rep**** on the message on 28 April 2024 to say they had huge call volumes and that is the reason they could not answer my call and they will discuss with the accommodation on what happened. After this I got a reply from Hannes on 6 May 2024 to indicate that I must contact booking.com during my stay and they can do nothing afterwards. What a **** reply as i did send them a message and also tried calling without out an answer on the day of my stay. I will recommend to everyone not to use booking.com. When something goes wrong on their side they cant help you and this is also an indication of why they have huge call volumes and could not answer.
Order # 1000096932 I am very disappointed in respect of my purchase of a tv using the online platform and will recommend to every one not to use House and Home. I opted to collect the TV at House and Home Alberton. Received a mail to say the TV is ready for collection. I went on Saturday to collect the TV and then I realized that it is a big mistake to use this company. Please people be warned do not use House and Home for any purchases you will regret it when something goes wrong rather purchase from other reputable companies as you will see there are hundreds of other complaints about them. When I got to House and Home Alberton to collect the TV I had to wait over 15 min to be helped then after another 10 min were informed that my TV were sold to another customer the previous day (Bering in mind that the TV they had there were already sold to me and were just awaiting collection (fully paid). He said he will try and get stock next week and I should then come back another day to come and collect it again. He then said he is going to speak to his manager. After another 15 I got impatient when he did not come back to me, I found him and told him I want a refund. As why must I spend my petrol and time again to collect the TV again that I were already there for. This was a gift to my parents in law as their TV packed up and needed it urgently. This is when the nightmare started. They try and make it as difficult as possible for you to get a refund from them. It should be kept in mind that this were an online purchase using my credit card so it should be as easy as to say that they will reverse the transaction or pay the money back into the same card. However, before they can start with the refund process you need to give them your ID for them to make a copy. OK that is potentially reasonable. Then the totally unreasonable claim are made that I need to give them bank statements to proof that I had made the purchase. I then had to get bank statements to proof the fact and send it to them. This is very personal information and I cant understand till today why I had to provide them with bank statements. This is the first time in my life that I had to provide a retailer with my personal bank statements that cost me additional money to obtain for them to start to process the refund. It ended up that I spend 2 hours of my Saturday to get all the information they require to start refund process. I then fought it will be a good thing to try and call their complaints line to indicate to them that I am a very unhappy customer. This were my mistake probably waisted my time as House and Home number cuts out after holding on for 25 min. The machine keeps on saying they have high call volumes and would be put through to the next available operator. Then tried a second time when it were eventually answered and I while I started with my first sentence the operator immediately say they are transferring me and then the phone dies. This is indicating if you have a problem you will not receive help. I were informed that to get the refund it takes 7 to 10 working days. I find it unacceptable time period as they immediately take my money, however when you want it back it is long difficult process that no other retailer have dealt with in the past required to get a refund. Please stay clear of this company as you will be very disappointed when things go wrong.
I had a problem with my trailer's wheels where it caused a vibration when you go over 100 Kph, I took the trailer to Supa Quick where they informed me there where a problem with the wheels and is the reason for the vibration. As the trailer was still fairly new I asked Riaan at Challenger if he would be able to assist me. He immediately said I can bring the trailer in and without any argument the wheels where changed. I was very impressed with the service received from him and will recommend anyone in the market for purchasing a trailer to contact Challenger Boksburg. The vibration problem is now gone and the trailer is towing very well.
